Playing games or pokies on Nokia phones consumes lots of battery. That’s why when buying Nokia phone one always wants the best battery phone. The latest Nokia smartphones be it Nokia 9 and Nokia 7.1 are the powerful battery phones still you need to boost battery life in most of the Nokia mobiles to get going with your pokies play without any interruption. Most of the Nokia Android Phones now run Android Oreo and latest Android OS here find the best guide to keep the power juice of Nokia smartphones for longer time.
Charge the battery to full
It is advised in the Nokia user manual of any smartphone to charge your phone always to 100%. This conditions your battery to receive full charge subsequently. Best idea is to charge your battery to full when begin to play games on Nokia. Also a word of caution don’t overcharge your Nokia battery and let it plugged in when fully charged. It may adversely impact Battery life and longevity.
Opt for battery saver
With Android Nougat Nokia comes with major battery drain improvements with ‘Battery Saver’ mode which automatically adjusts the display and other parameters that are draining your battery. Battery Saver, tries to reduce the brightness & kill some background processes that are running in the background but not being used. So this helps in prolonging your battery life. When you turn on the battery saver mode, the navigation bar & the notification bar becomes orange in color. It indicates that battery saver is on.
You can set the Battery Saver Mode on by tapping on Battery icon in Notification center or by going to Settings–>Battery. You can also define at what Battery level Battery Saver gets switched on automatically. You have Three options to set: never, 5% and 15%.
You can manually also save battery
Lower the screen brightness: Tap Settings > Display >Brightness level. Make sure that Adaptive brightness is unabled. To adjust the brightness, drag the Brightness level slider.
Select only the sounds that you need: Mute unnecessary sounds, such as key press sounds. Tap Settings > Sound, and under Other sounds, select which sounds to keep.
Change the phone screen settings: Set the phone screen to switch off after a short time. Tap Settings > Display > Sleep and select the time.
Use location services selectively: Switch location services off when you don’t need them. Tap Settings > Location, and switch to Off.
Manage Background apps
You can easily manage number of apps that are allowed to run in the background. This ensures better performance and extended battery life by making sure that only those apps run in background which you really need to do so. It also minimizes use of RAM and processor and keeps them free when you actually need to launch a new app or do something.
On Android Oreo 8.1 go to Settings–>Battery–>Background Activity manager. Now “enable Blacklist” and from the list of app appearing below toggle on all the apps and games that you don’t want to run in the background. Toggle off those apps and games that you want to run in the background.
Use network connections selectively
Switch Bluetooth on only when needed. Use a Wi-Fi connection to connect to the internet, rather than a cellular data connection. Stop your phone scanning for available wireless networks. Tap Settings> Wi-Fi, and switch to Off. If you’re listening to music or otherwise using your phone, but don’t want to make or receive calls, switch Airplane mode on. Tap Settings > More >Airplane mode. Airplane mode closes connections to the cellular network and switches your device’s wireless features off.
Use Background Activity cleaner
There is one more option of “Background Activity cleaner” which you can use also to extend battery life. But if you switch it on notifications of some apps/games may not be visible to you instantly. This is the default batter life extending option in Android Oreo Nokia devices.
Optimize your
If you go to Settings–>Battery, you can go to Battery optimization by going to the menu on the top right (Check the screenshots below). Here you can check which all apps are optimized to save battery. You can also choose by tapping on the name of each app whether they are optimized to save battery or not.
Use wired headphones, rather than the loudspeaker
The speaker will take more power to operate than a headphone by default because of the increase in power demand to move the coil in the speaker cone . By how much on a smartphone’s loudspeaker might be very little though . Unless your plumbing some wired professional studio headphones then the loudspeaker on the phone would use less , again its because of the power required to move the coil . It would have more power demands with the larger , more powerful headphones compared to in ear headphone types. So use wired headphones.
Look out for apps drinking the juice
For this go to settings and then battery settings. Here you will find the detailed usage of the battery. It will tell you which apps are using the most amount of battery. If you find any app that is draining your battery, just kill the app or the process if that is not necessary to you.
Disable Notifications
Go to Settings–>Notifications. Tap on the name of any apps/games. Now you can change notification option to disable it completely for the apps/games you don’t like to send notifications. This can help in saving Battery power a lot.
Clearing Cache data
When you use Android apps & update them, you get lots of cache data which are nothing but just useless files. It is very necessary to keep clearing cache files on your Android device because along with battery drain, they also led your device to slow down. To do this you need to go to Settings > Apps > select an app > Storage > Clear cache. Another method to clear is going to Settings > Storage and USB > Cached data > OK.
Disable services you no longer need
There are some unnecessary services that keep running in the background and take the battery power. Disabling some network connections, location services & some other services will help you a lot. When not using data usage turn off Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and cellular data. As said above if you no longer require network, you can use flight mode also. This will help to save you lots of battery charge.
Finally remember that if your Nokia phone drains lots of battery above all the methods then better do a factory reset or change your battery with a new one.
